Larry find some Rough Edges in Google Voice

Today peple are talking about Google Voice, an application that helps you better manage your voice communications. However, the service is avaliable for only those who had previously signed up for GrandCentral. Google hasn’t announced when others can sign up.

The new application improves the way you use your phone. You can get transcripts of your voicemail (see the video below) and archive and search all of the SMS text messages you send and receive. You can also use the service to make low-priced international calls and easily access Goog-411 directory assistance.

The interesting flaws Larry found out and posted at CNET yesterday were also very interesting, although i think few of these are minor and will be removed soon, but still are flaws. Few of these he found out are :

1. User cannot delete voice mails from his number despite following the instructions to press 7 to “archive” messages

2. User can’t use his Google number as his outgoing caller ID when he dials directly from a cell phone.

3. Since it’s an incoming service only, user can’t record outbound calls and he can’t use Google Voice to add people to a call. They have to call user .

4. The service is currently available only to people who had previously signed up for GrandCentral.

Despite these facts, everyone here is anxiously waiting and looking forward for its open release for everyone. Again, Google is all over the market and its true.
